The work of Vicky Blackburn is vibrant and atmospheric, blending technical expertise with personal reaction and vision.
Capturing the brooding light and shifting shadows of Scotland's West Highlands, along with the immense feeling of space and the force of nature; Blackburn's work moves effortlessly between representational, impressionistic and abstract in what has become her signature style.
Having been born and brought up on the family farm in the remote west highlands, Blackburns heart is very much still there although she now lives on the east. Studying at Duncan of Jordanstone College of art in Dundee, Blackburn then spent some time working in Art Therapy before starting a family.
Blackburn has a recognisable individual style with a strong sense of composition, and her works are colourful, atmospheric and evocative.
Blackburn has exhibited across Scotland and has works in many private collections here and around the world.
