After attending Bradford Art College, Trevor Mitchell began his career as a trainee art director at a London advertising agency in 1979, creating advertising and publicity material for a variety of big brands. A few years later he returned to his native West Yorkshire and worked for several design studios and advertising agencies before going freelance in 1986.
Commercial illustration work rekindled his childhood love of painting and it became his burning ambition to earn a living as a full time artist. Today, Trevor’s paintings can be found reproduced on prints, cards, jigsaw puzzles and collector plates all over the world.
Trevor's paintings reflect his enthusiasm for steam and vintage vehicles and his love of the countryside. He delights in recreating the past on canvas through careful research and is well known for his nostalgic, authentic scenes depicting farming and rural life.
