NIKO LAZO
In December of 2010, Niko Lazo saw the world through a different lens – a digital SLR.
Niko hails as an alumnus of De La Salle College of Saint Benilde. After college, Niko ignited his passion in photography as an attendee of theChasing Light seminars. Niko is no stranger to the creative arts. He is the youngest member of the Torres-Lazo family, where there is esteemed talent in visual flair.
In 1996, Niko and his family suffered through a tragic loss. While most people would use misfortune as a crutch, Niko chose to become his family’s beacon of light, through his undaunted attitude and impeccable comedic timing. Niko is well known in his circle of friends and family for his witty remarks and sidesplitting stories that stems from his affable personality and ingenious mind. Anyone who meets him is charmed by his jovial appeal. Although photography drives his passion, Niko is also a sports-enthusiast. He roots for the ball club, Manchester United and has watched his idol, LeBron James play in the United Center at Chicago.
Niko, his camera, and his tripod have traveled across lands and seas. He has captured the intricate and natural beauty of several urban and remote locations in the Philippines, from the sparkling beaches of Boracay to the breathtaking sunset of Batanes. His travels are not limited to the islands but also to most cities in Asia including South Korea, Vietnam, and Hong Kong.
His vision is fostered through his artistic tool, a Canon Mark 5D. Niko’s body of work include scenic landscape, cityscape that have been featured in both local and international print media. Additionally, galleries have displayed Niko’s works of art.
