I moved to Highland Perthshire, Scotland in 2000 after completing a printed textile design degree course at Manchester and freelancing for several years, working with companies such as John Lewis and exhibiting a collection of rugs at Libertys, London. During this time i became very interested in colour and texture. I moved into painting, first using watercolour and more recently oils, with which i can illustrate more readily the vibrancy and diversity of the surrounding trees and landscape which naturally inspire me. I now exhibit regularly around Scotland and my work is evolving all the time. I continue to be interested in the layering of images and colour to translate the space and depth i see in my subject matter onto canvas. I work outside from life as well as in the studio to keep my work from stagnating.
