IAIN BRADY

Iain studied painting at Grays School of Art. During this time he won several awards including the Royal Scottish Academy, Walters Maclaine medal.

After art college he was drawn to the West Coast of Scotland. For over 25 years he painted and sculpted in the Outer Hebrides. The rugged beauty of this landscape and its wildlife has been a pivotal influence on his work.

He has been invited to take part in several high profile exhibitions representing Scottish art. His work has been shown in major galleries including the Gallery of Modern Art - Glasgow, Talbot Rice, Smithsonian Institute USA, and across Canada. He has also been awarded several large public commissions.

Many works combine 2 & 3D elements where small areas are raised or more solid forms ‘invade’ the compositions. This in part gives the paintings their unique quality. Painting onto wood panels allows the possibility of creating irregular shapes. The final work is normally presented in a box frame.
