Francesca Hudson has been working as a professional artist since 2000, specializing in acrylic paint and mixed media.
Born in Lancashire, Francesca now lives in Newcastle and works from her home studio. Having studied at Edinburgh College of Art, Francesca is a classically trained figurative and portrait painter, and produces portraits of people and animals on request.
In her paintings for exhibiton and sale, her subjects reference nostalgia and history combined with a contemporary approach to composition, allowing the viewer to project their own narratives between the elements depicted.
"The imagery I select in my paintings refers to the past decadence all British people are familiar with when visiting a stately home. Not necessarily our own personal history, but a group sense of comfort and belonging. I feel my paintings would best be enjoyed with a glass of sherry, a dog at your feet and a log fire burning."
Francesca has exhibited widely in galleries across the UK and abroad, as a well as enjoying the custom of many private collectors.
All Francesca's paintings are entirely unique, with a spontaneous brushwork style and muted palette, designed to compliment both comtemporary and vintage home interiors.
