Being outdoors in the mountains and forests; walking the coastlines, fields and moors; experiencing the magic of the changing seasons - these are some of the fundamentals that shape my life as a Scottish landscape artist.
I paint as I see it and sometimes it's a recognisable image and sometimes it veers to the more abstract - it depends on the subject, mood, season and, of course, whim. Mostly my work involves strong colour, whether it's city streets, Swiss or Scottish mountains, or, closer to home, the fields and coastlines of East Lothian.
I work largely with acrylic on canvas.
And it's great fun, too.
