ANNE FARRALL DOYLE
My loves throughout my life have always been Art & Music, subsequently the two live together in the formation of my work. They are part of each other. When I am working there is always musical inspiration, Beethoven to Blues, Mozart to Jarret .
My distinctive style has a thematic feeling of drama & mystery that appeals to questions of where we are in this wondrous formation.
Primary inspiration stems from my surroundings & studies of ancient Art, always searching & looking for that fine balance of colours & complex shadows & form. Paintings, I believe, work on two levels, firstly controlled compositions with strong tone, secondly, I hope, they carry a journey of thought & beauty in which the viewer can share my inner wonderment.
Anne was born in Cheshire & studied @ Stockport College of Art, following which she spent an informative period in Advertising, eventually establishing herself as a high profile figurative illustrator with London & American Agents, dealing with a wide variety of clients both nationally & internationally. A love of travel & varied experiences took her to countries in Europe & North Africa settling & working in Spain, France, Germany & Ireland. Eventually concentrating on Fine Art in Ireland where she ran workshops & teaching. Now settled in Devon, amongst lush countryside she continues her everyday journey.
