Ann Armstrong studied at Glasgow School of Art from 1969-74, Winner of the GSA Landscape Watercolour Prize, 1974. Her work is inspired by travel and the subjects of her pastel, watercolour or oil paintings could be the grey subdued light of a Parisian street in winter, or the blinding midday sun on the Nile, or a cloudy Scottish hillside, seeking the vibrant or subtle colours of her subject matter. She has participated in many solo and group exhibitions, including the Royal Scottish Society of Watercolour Artists, Royal Glasgow Institute, The Aspect Prize, Paisley Art Institute Drawing Competition and many galleries.

Ann Armstrong's work is featured in collections in Scotland, England, Germany, France, New Zealand and Canada.
