I studied art at the West Surrey College of Art & Design, Farnham and Richmond-upon-Thames College, Richmond, London. I went on to become the senior colour artist and then studio manager of the world's largest and oldest publisher of hand-coloured fine art engravings, Thomas Ross Ltd, based in Berkshire. A company of such tradition that it counted Turner. Landseer and Millais as amongst its principal printing clients. I turned freelance in 2005 to concentrate on my own work.
I regard myself as a figurative/abstract figurative landscape artist. I tend to be drawn to landscapes which are quite bare and stark, making use of spatial elements, colour and line and featuring expansive use of sky to convey a mood of quiet reflection and contemplation, hopefully to create images which convey a sense of poetry and atmosphere.
I have held and curated joint exhibitions in London and Cornwall, and exhibited at several other regional exhibitons as well as in New York. I am also currently represented by a gallery in Virginia, USA.
