AINE DIVINE

I am a portrait artist and art teacher. Originally from Co. Cork, I graduated in 1991 from the Crawford College of Art and Design and in 1995 gained a Higher Diploma in art teaching. I was shortlisted for the Irish National Portrait Award three years in a row and was an award winner in 1993. Now living in Roslin near Edinburgh, my work was on show at the Royal Scottish Academy in their annual exhibition of the Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour this year. Two of my paintings have been selected for exhibition with the Royal Watercolour Society in their Contemporary watercolour exhibition at the Bankside Gallery in London, opening this Friday.

In 2005, I was selected as one of three artists to paint the late Dr. Mo Mowlam on BBC1’s “Star Portraits” with Rolf Harris and was delighted when Mo chose my painting as the one she wanted to keep. My work has featured in “The Artist” and “Art of England” magazines and my DVD, “Portraits in Watercolour” is available from Townhouse Films.
